We are more dependent than ever on technology today. It impacts every facet of modern life, including enabling communication, automation, transportation, and analytics. While technology offers powerful solutions to make our daily routines easier and faster, it can also be a key vulnerability when it comes to protecting sensitive data, including personal, business, and/or proprietary information.
Due to sudden and prolonged “work from home” mandates in the wake of the global pandemic and a marked increase in “hacktivism” and “cyber warfare” in response to rising political tensions, governments, businesses and individuals have all become much more aware of the unprecedented cyber threats emerging both domestically and internationally and the corresponding importance of cybersecurity measures.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine heightened this awareness and sparked a wave of concern about cyber threats. As nations impose heavy and far-reaching sanctions on Russia, fear of cyber-retaliation looms.
This new world order invites companies and individuals to reflect on their existing cyber defenses. Bad actors take advantage of uncertainty, inexperience, fear, and ignorance to extract valuable information from their targets. Businesses would be well served by meaningfully considering and implementing proactive cybersecurity protocols to mitigate the risk of falling victim to cybercrime.
In this webinar, we are privileged to hear from experts from a variety of professional backgrounds, as they offer insight into the macro and micro implications of cybersecurity and discuss best practices for protecting private information.
Webinar panelists and commentators will provide information on:
- Current and emerging trends in public and private cybersecurity;
- Assess exposure to cyberattacks and risk mitigation strategies; and
- Key cybersecurity considerations at the private, public, academic and individual levels.
This program entitles you to up to 1 hour of background CPD (ON), 1 hour of CPD (BC) and 1 hour of CLE (QC).
