Six games on Thursday’s main MLB slate, though the Blue Jays-Yankees are in danger of rain, so keep an eye out for that when building the roster.

Here’s a look at some of my favorite DFS games for Friday’s action. For additional picks in all MLB games, find me on Twitter @Nick_Friar.

LAUNCHER

Standard

Charlie Morton, Atlanta Braves @ San Diego Padres ($9,300) – If you’re looking for takedown potential, look no further than the Padres. In 30 1/3 innings against starting pitchers, the San Diego batters have struck out 36 times. Twenty-two of those frames came against right-handed pitchers, who racked up 26 strikeouts during that span. Morton, of course, has the ability to go on a punching spree. Plus, most San Diego players have struggled with the Atlanta right-hander before or haven’t seen him much – Jurickson Profar ($2,700) being the only exception.

Other Options – Walker Buehler ($9,700)

Value

Kyle Freeland, Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs ($6,000) – The Cubs did pretty well against that intimidating Milwaukee pitching staff to open the season. Then they only had two points in back-to-back games against the Pirates, bringing us to where we are now. Freeland didn’t get all that hot in his first start of the season, but he still hit six in just 3 2/3 innings. And similar to Morton against San Diego, it’s a formation that hasn’t seen much of Freeman, which usually works in favor of a pitcher.

Other options – Zack Greinke ($6,800)

INTERIOR

Standard

Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals vs. Detroit Tigers ($4,600) – Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($5,900) stole the show on Wednesday, but Perez was all the rage on Tuesday. After going homeless in KC’s first series, the catcher ran twice against the Cardinals. Now he faces Casey Mize ($7,100), which he has set on fire more than once before. Perez is 7 for 15 with a double and a home run against the right-hander — both extra hits coming last season.

Standard

Jared Walsh, Los Angeles Angels @ Texas Rangers ($4,600) – Dane Dunning ($6,400) didn’t exactly thrive against the Jays in his first start of the season, but that’s not exactly a shocker. He’s far from an extinct starter, which makes him an excellent opponent for Walsh. The first baseman posted a .994 OPS against right-handed throwing throughout 2021, threw 19 homers to go along with 30 doubles and a triple.

Other options – Max Muncy ($4,300); Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($5,900)

Value

Connor Joe, Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs ($3,400) – The Colorado point guard has been busy early on, scoring in each of Colorado’s first five games. He also had a hit in four of those games, posting 15+ DKFP on three occasions. Joe also has two homers and a double. While his two home runs came against right-handers, he did very well against left-handed pitchers in his limited chance last season (.941 OPS), which is what the Rockies will face to start things off Thursday.

Value

Dansby Swanson, Atlanta Braves @ San Diego Padres ($3,900) – I’ve never been so stoned Joe Musgrove ($7,600) like the majority. He’s not someone I usually look to target, but he’s not exactly the one I’m scared of. And with the shortstop being one of the thinnest positions on Thursday’s slate, Swanson becomes one of my favorite targets of the day. He’s got a few doubles so far, but he’s been slow at the gates. However, the Atlanta shortstop is in a rebound position Thursday against Musgrove. Swanson is 3 for 7 with two doubles and a home run against the San Diego right-hander. He also walked four times against Musgrove, proving just how well Swanson sees the ball out of the right-handed hand.

Other options – Nicky Lopez ($3,600)

OUTSIDE FIELD

Standard

Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Cincinnati Reds ($5,300) – Betts is coming off his best showing in 2022 yet, but we’re not just hoping he follows up a strong performance on Wednesday with another on Thursday. The leading man can have a hit in four of Los Angeles’ five games, but he’s only hitting .217 with a .554 OPS. He still has plenty of time to increase those numbers, and he’ll face an opener he’s 5-13 against to start Thursday’s game. And with Betts still without a home run, he should soon break out in a big way.

Standard

Kris Bryant, Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs ($4,400) – Speaking of homeruns, Bryant hit average well to start his Rockies career and he has three doubles. But everyone expects his home run numbers to take off at Coors. The Rockies return home Thursday to face a southpaw, which is Bryant’s specialty — though he struggled in that regard when he joined San Francisco in 2021. Still, he finished last season with a .910 OPS against lefties, and he was over 1,000 in his previous two MLB seasons.

Other Options – Aaron Judge ($5,200)

Value

Andrew Benintendi, Kansas City Royals vs. Detroit Tigers ($3,800) – Benintendi hit Mize well during their few encounters, which is not really surprising. The Detroit right-hander struggled against left-handers last season. In 16 fewer plate appearances (31 fewer at bat), left-handed hitters have hit 10 more home runs, three more triples and two more doubles against Mize than right-handed hitters throughout 2021. had only seven chances against Mize this season, but he always allowed a home run to a left-handed batter.

Jurickson Profar, San Diego Padres vs. Atlanta Braves ($2,700) – As much as I loved Morton Thursday, Profar saw him a lot and thrived. The outfielder is 5-for-13 with a brace and a home run against Atlanta SP Thursday. Also, aside from the game he entered late, Profar has a hit in every Padres contest this season — including three for extra bases. At this price, it’s one of the best overnight payday savers.

Other options – Connor Joe ($3,400); Adam Duvall ($3,800)

STACKING TEAM

Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs – Although Justin Steele ($5,400) did well in his first start of 2022, coming against a Milwaukee roster that struggled last season and wasn’t particularly strong to start this one. Now he faces a roster that includes a hot lead hitter in Joe and power bats that hit southpaws well in Bryant and CJ Cron ($4,500)the latter having an ISO of 0.273 compared to lefties 2021.

Other options – Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Cincinnati Reds; Kansas City Royals vs. Detroit Tigers
