MLB DFS Picks Today: Top Targets, Values on DraftKings for Saturday’s Slate

A full Saturday of MLB action awaits. Let’s go with some pitchers and hitters to target along with some value picks on DraftKings today.
Best Pitchers
Alek Manoah, Blue Jays vs. Astros ($10,100) – So much attention is being paid to Toronto’s offense, but don’t overlook what Manoah is doing on the mound; the 24-year-old is an emerging star. He pitched six innings and recorded at least 20 DK runs in each of his first two starts. Batters have an expected .174 batting average against him. A game against the Astros looks tough at first glance, but Houston recently struggled without Jose Altuve; they’ve only scored five points in their last three games.
Matt Brash, Mariners vs. Royals ($9,000) — Brash, with sound ridiculous fastball-slider combo, has been pretty good against two top offenses in his first two MLB starts. He posted 17.0 and 16.6 DK points against the White Sox and Astros, respectively. Steps are a problem – he issued six in his last outing – but if he can locate, Brash is incredibly hard to hit. He has a great game today at home against a Royals team that has scored the fewest points in the league (32) and has the third-worst OPS (.585).
Top Hitters
Freddie Freeman, Dodgers vs. Padres ($5,300) – Freeman was a little slow coming off, but now he looks like the hitter we all know and love. He had 10 hits in his last 20 at bats, including a few homers. He’s 4 for 11 with one brace and one home run in his career against likely Padres starter Yu Darvish.
Manny Machado, Padres vs. Dodgers ($5,700) – Machado has left-handed pitchers at the start. He’s 9 for 16 with three homers against lefties. And now here’s another one to Tyler Anderson. He’s had success against Manny in his career (3 for 15, an extra hit), but you should always trust a powerhouse third baseman.
Pitcher of value
Frankie Montas, Athletics vs. Rangers ($8,300) – Montas’ price is at a season high, but it’s still quite affordable considering Montas has racked up at least 23 DK points in each of his last two starts. Opposing batters have only hit .232 against Montas in Oakland since the start of last season. Rangers have scored a good number of points, but it’s not a formation that should scare you, especially Corey Seager and Marcus Semien who are both struggling.
Value hitter
Eduardo Escobar, Dishes vs. Diamondbacks ($4,900) – Escobar, a former D-back, is 8 for 20 with four extra hits in his previous six games. This is good for a clean and tidy .400/.500/.700 slash line. A game against Arizona right-hander Humberto Castellanos looks like a game to attack.
