CIH Nagaland Hosts Webinar on Protected Cultivation of High-Value Vegetables | MorungExpress

Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): As part of the ongoing campaign on Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari campaign under the leadership of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Nagaland held a webinar on “Improvement Awareness Program technology for producing exotic and high-value vegetable crops under protected cultivation” on April 28.

A CIH press release said the webinar covered technologies related to the protected cultivation of high-value vegetables and hydroponics for smallholders and marginal farmers to raise awareness of production technologies and crop cultivation prospects. exotic and high-value vegetables under protected cultivation.

Dr. Naveen Patle, Additional Commissioner, DA&FW and Director in charge of the CIH, in his introductory remarks, welcomed all the participants and resource persons of the program, he also highlighted the activities of the CIH and underlined the importance and potential of growing valuable tall crops under protected cultivation in the NER. Resource persons invited were Dr. Anand Zambre, Executive Director of NCPAH and Dr. Praveen Singh, Hydroponics Professional, The Khedibadi Wala.

Dr. Anand Zambre gave a presentation on protected cultivation vegetable production technology with particular reference to the northeast region, and Dr. Praveen Singh gave his presentation on exotic vegetable production technologies through cultivation. hydroponics.

A total of about 450 attendees comprising of farmers led by state horticulture officers, extension officers from KVK, SHGs, FPOs and contractors from all Northeastern states participated and virtually interacted with the ‘expert.
