EFLU Hyderabad to teach and refine communication skills of IAS trainees

To teach and hone the communication skills of IAS trainees, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Academy of Administration Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
The MoU facilitates cooperation between EFLU and LBSNAA in sharing experiences, best practices and knowledge in the field of developing professional communication skills of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) trainees.
The MoU also allows EFLU to design and deliver intensive training programs that enhance the professional communication of IAS trainees while developing their written communication specifically for leadership.
Prof. E Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, EFLU Hyderabad, who is also a member of University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, and Radhika Rastogi, Co-Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, officially signed and exchanged the MoU on Wednesday in Mussoorie.
Professor Kumar said the signing of the MoU was a momentous occasion and since the administration includes legal, political and economic issues, apart from a host of other concerns of society, it is important that IAS officers understand all aspects of these issues.
He pointed out that reading the Constitution and legal books plays a very important role in understanding the nuances of official documents and communications.
Professor Kumar further said officers will also need sharp negotiation skills that will protect the interests of all stakeholders. This is where agents need to be trained in written and oral communication skills and EFLU is arguably the best institute to offer training in all of these language issues.
