Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has signed agreements with leading Moroccan universities to strengthen mutual partnership in the areas of information and communication technology (ICT) skills development, professional mentoring, training, digital learning and innovation. The main objective of the program is to provide young talents in Morocco with world-class learning and career development opportunities.

As part of the agreements, Ericsson will provide students with on-the-job training and mentorship through seasoned industry specialists. Ericsson will also provide students with access to Ericsson Educate, a digital skills portal developed by Ericsson during the pandemic, which aims to strengthen university students’ ICT skills and increase their preparation for jobs in the telecommunications and ICT sectors. .

The project is part of Ericsson’s #AfricaInMotion campaign, which aims to accelerate digital inclusion and adoption across the continent. The program includes different learning paths, tailored to the educational needs and maturity level of the target students, and offers online courses on 5G networks, Internet of Things (IoT), data science, automation , artificial intelligence and machine learning. Through organized thought leadership and innovation competitions for students, Ericsson plans to actively contribute to shaping Morocco’s future technology leaders.

Nora Wahby, Vice President and Head of Customer Unit West Africa and Morocco at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, said: “Since we launched the #AfricaInMotion campaign, we have focused on promoting the education, innovation and entrepreneurship across the continent. Through our partnership with universities in Morocco, we aim to demonstrate the potential of technology to enable smarter learning methods and improve teaching effectiveness. As a pioneer in cellular technology and holding a legacy of over a century in the industry, we are committed to providing educational institutions across the continent with our expertise, knowledge and solutions to help Africa to train its future technological leaders.

Ericsson has been present in Morocco since 1984 and has since played a key role in the country’s telecommunications landscape. By strengthening students’ digital skills and empowering universities to deliver quality education in the 21st century, the program aims to nurture young Moroccan talent, help them unlock their potential and accelerate the continent’s digital development.
