Frank Grillo is famous for never stopping – by the actor’s own admission, whenever he’s not sleeping, he’s shooting a movie or working out – and in a new video on his Instagram, he has shared his trick to avoid jet lag. While others might rush for a bed or a cup of coffee, Grillo reaches for a pair of boxing gloves.

Grillo explains that he did a morning weight training session shortly after arriving in Malta, followed by jiu jitsu training and finally some impressive boxing drills with his training partner Jay Rajakariyar at Fortune Gym in Malta. Grillo greeted boxer and gym owner Justin Fortune, before showing off one of the fighter’s suits while working on the pads.

“I still feel lazy and jet lagged but the only way out is to train,” he wrote.

Grillo is in good company: Fellow action stars Dwayne Johnson and Arnold Schwarzenegger have both previously said that the first thing they do when arriving at a new destination while traveling with work is find the bathroom nearest gym. Schwarzenegger vows to take a nap after the flight in favor of turning on his pump, and Johnson says it helps him “ground” and “balance.”

While Grillo has been fighting for decades (literally: the man pursued a career in martial arts before acting), he previously said men’s health that he increased the intensity of his training after he turned 50. Now 56, he is in the best shape of his life.

“In your 50s you think you should slow down,” he said. “I was probably in the best shape of my life at 52, that’s the message I try to tell people all the time, much younger than me. There are no rules, so don’t think that as you get older you get slower.”
