MLB DFS Picks Today: Top Targets, Values on DraftKings for Friday, April 29
A full 15-game slate will kick off the weekend for MLB today and that means there are plenty of options available to you to form the perfect lineup for DraftKings Daily Fantasy.
Here are some of the players we think you should consider for today’s schedule:
Nestor Cortes, Yankees vs. Royals ($10,000) – The most expensive pitcher tonight is Cortes, who had three starts and earned DFS users an average of a fantastic 25 points per start. In 15.2 innings pitched this season, he mowed down 25 batters on strikes while allowing just seven hits and two earned runs. It’s been an extremely difficult task for hitters to break Cortes and that’s why you should consider paying full price to lock him into your lineup.
Adam Wainwright, Cardinals vs. Diamondbacks ($9,400) – The veteran takes to the mound for tonight’s home battle against the D-Backs. He’s looking to bounce back from being roughed up by the Reds on Sunday, getting eight hits and four earned runs in a 4-1 loss. He’ll get that chance against an Arizona squad that still bats the worst .178 in the major leagues as a team and has struck out 182 this season. Catch Wainwright for your programming if you can.
Byron Buxton, Twins vs. Rays ($6,100) – Buxton is the most valuable fantasy hitter for tonight’s slate, averaging 12 fantasy points per game. There’s definitely an element of boom or bust with the Twin Cities slugger as he posted more than 30 consecutive performances against the White Sox last weekend before going no-hitter in two games against the Tigers earlier this week. He will face Rays starter Corey Kluber tonight, who has allowed six earned runs in his last two starts. It would be a good place for Buxton to get back on track.
Seiya Suzuki, Cubs vs. Brewers ($5,400) – You can never go wrong with the rookie outfielder, who bats .322 and averages a fantastic 10 points per game on DFS. The Cubs face Brewers starter Adrian Houser, who didn’t have the best outing in his previous start. Suzuki already has one home run and six RBIs against the Milwaukee pitchers this season, so it’s a good omen to put him in your lineup for tonight.
Pitcher of value
Kyle Hendricks, Cubs vs. Brewers ($7,400) — Hendricks is already in his fifth start of the season and outside of a tough outing against the Pirates a few weeks ago, he’s been solid in the Cubs’ rotation. He’s averaging a fantastic 13.1 points per game, averaging about five Ks per contest with a 3.98 ERA. He hit seven Milwaukee batters and allowed just one earned run in his season debut earlier in the month and should do well tonight.
Paul Goldschmidt, Cardinals vs. Diamondbacks ($4,700) –Goldschmidt’s bat was hot in Game 1 of Thursday’s series, going 3-4 with a run and three RBIs in an 8-3 win. He’s been on fire lately having had at least two hits in six of his last seven games. Tonight he will face D-Backs starter Madison Bumgarner, against whom he has a career batting average of .338 with 24 hits. Goldschmidt is a prime contender tonight.
