The UDST celebrates its identity, its fundamental values

On the occasion of its establishment by Amiri Decision No. 13 of 2022 issued by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Doha University for Science and Technology (UDST) held a special celebration for reveal the raison d’être of its identity and the core values ​​of the brand.

The event was attended by HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada, Chairman of the UDST Board and Board Members; Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of UDST and other officials. The event began with the raising of flags at the main campus entrance and continued with many engaging activities for the UDST community in addition to the announcement of the first student council winners.
As the first applied national university, UDST has revealed strong brand attributes and a design that reflects a local artistic approach with a global touch.
The color: A deep, vivid blue symbolizing reliability and trust. The vivid look of blue reflects the vibrancy and inclusiveness of the campus.
The Pillar: The overall logo brings together several elements, ultimately forming a structure that represents the four pillars of education in a solid foundation. It reveals the brand’s purpose: to equip students with practical skills and an applied education resulting in skilled, talented and work-ready graduates who can meet the needs of an ever-changing national and global economy.
The Arabic letters: “Jeem” and “Daal”, the initials of the university in Arabic, alongside “U” and “D”, the initials of the university in English, joined together to form a single entity. The interconnectivity of letters reveals a university rooted in Qatari culture but open to the world.

The parallelograms symbolize an open book and wings. These two entities stand side by side and represent the support that UDST offers its students in their educational journey, fostering a culture of academic excellence.
Commenting on the event, Dr Al-Naemi said, “Today we celebrate with our community a new era of education full of opportunity and positive change. Our university keeps innovation, professionalism and high standards at its core to serve the current and future students whom we consider to be the backbone of our educational institution. We are happy to announce that our UDST team has embarked on a long process of creating a solid identity. Our goal was to reveal a brand that speaks for itself and incorporates our long history of excellence in education. We are proud that this logo was designed in-house after a thorough research and analysis process. We look forward to making Doha University for Science and Technology another success story.
The values ​​of Achievement, Development, Career, Performance, Evolution and Innovation reflect the philosophies of UDST and represent the guiding principles that drive all of its decisions.
UDST offers applied bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The activities of the UDST are aimed at achieving the human, social and economic development of the country. The university will train highly qualified professionals who will lead Qatar to become an advanced society capable of sustainable development, as outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030.
UDST is the first applied national university to offer applied bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in addition to certificates and diplomas. UDST offers more than 50 programs in the fields of engineering technology and industrial trades, business management, computer science and information technology, health sciences, training continuing and professional and development, etc.
UDST is recognized for its student-centered learning and state-of-the-art training facilities.
UDST has over 20 years of experience in Qatar; it started as a college and transitioned into a university in 2022. The university is an in-state destination for technical and vocational education and training.
